Q: Will the flowers in the personalized pressed flower designs fade?

A: Martha’s Everlastings Personalized Pressed Flowers are designs made with real flowers. They are sprayed with a sealer to help preserve the natural color of the design. Still, the flowers and leaves, once living things, will eventually soften with time, giving a new look to their natural beauty. You can lengthen their color life by keeping them from direct sunlight and fluorescent lights, just as you would a fine watercolor painting.

Q: I am looking for information about how to press flowers. Can you help?

A: My favorite books on pressed flowers are: The Book of Pressed Flowers by Penny Black (Simon & Schuster, New York) and Glorious Pressed Flower Projects (paperback) by Cellestine Hannemann (Sterling Publishing Co., Inc., New York). Check your local library or book store and you will find many books on flower pressing.

Q: Do you press your own flowers? If so, will you sell just your pressed flowers?

A: Sorry, but we press flowers for our own use, and do not sell them separately.

Q: Do you press flowers that people send you from their wedding or other special occasion?

A: We do not press flowers that people send to us; however, we often put our own pressed flowers on wedding invitations that are sent to us. A typical invitation is usually placed in an 8" x 10" gold frame with a mat around it. Wedding invitations are handled as special orders, and each one is priced individually. Q: Can I choose the flowers that you use in your designs?

A: Sorry, but you cannot choose the flowers because not all flowers press well, and it depends upon the season as to what I have on hand. I can try to use flowers that have the colors you want, but there is no guarantee that the colors will match exactly.
